Manage workforce phone numbers
Open Account → Phone numbers to manage reserved numbers. Number availability, compliance requirements, and supported capabilities vary by country and number type. A reserved number is not automatically a published communication channel. Assignment, provider registration, and channel publication are separate steps.Get a number
1
Start the number flow
Select the get-number action. Choose the country and number type, then
search the available inventory.
2
Review capabilities and requirements
Confirm that the number supports the SMS and/or voice capabilities you need.
Review the displayed pricing and verification requirements before ordering.
3
Complete verification
Where required, follow the verification wizard for that country and number
type. Supply accurate business, address, identity, and supporting-document
information. Complete any additional identity check presented by the flow.
4
Track activation
Return to the list to review pending applications or orders. Submission is
not approval, and a selected number is not active until setup completes.
Resolve a pending or rejected application
Read the current application status and any document-specific rejection reason. Use the offered edit/resubmit action to correct the existing submission where available. Do not repeatedly order new numbers to work around an unresolved verification requirement. If an order or verification remains pending, check its current status before retrying payment or starting another request. Contact support with the application or order reference, not sensitive identity documents.Assign the number to a worker
Assign an active number to the intended AI Employee, then select that number in its channel editor. The Phone setup checks that it is actively assigned to that worker and supports the enabled options.- Phone can use SMS and voice separately; at least one must be enabled.
- Signal requires its own registration and activation.
- WhatsApp requires its registration/display-name approval flow.
Release a number
Before using a release action, review the displayed impact on channels using the number. Move or disable affected communication paths intentionally and confirm the consequences before proceeding. Releasing a number is not the same as pausing an individual channel.Troubleshooting
- Number missing in a channel: Check the active account, assignment, and activation status.
- Publishing blocked: Verify assignment and that selected SMS/voice options are supported.
- WhatsApp or Signal not receiving messages: Check that channel’s registration state, publication, and inbound policy—not only the number order.
- Paid channel unavailable: Review credits, spend limits, and account limits.
